Interview: The Valley

MA: Hello guys, rad to be chatting to you, how is everyone doing today?

Very well thanks!

MA: Do you mind starting with a quick 101 on who The Valley is? Where in SA are you from and how did you get started in the music scene?

The Valley consists of Anton Louw, Le Roux Hofmeyr, Charl Stemmet and now Chris Bolton. We’re all from Cape Town.

We’ve always had a few friends in different bands at the time when we started. We just booked a show with our mates and started playing.

MA: What are some of your musical influences?

To name a few: Black Sabbath, Dead Weather, Queens of the Stone Age, The Sword etc.

MA: Do you have any major highlights in your musical career thus far?

We’ve recently just come back from our first European Tour. Playing various cities in Portugal and Germany.

MA: What are your thoughts on our local music scene at the moment?

The local scene always goes through these ups & downs. Currently, there are a lot of great locals acts but the main problem is a limited amount of venues to feed the scene what they need. Particularly speaking about Cape Town.

MA: Any acts/bands/artists that you think need a special mention?

Rugga Rock! These guys have been making us super amped for the RWC 2019. We can’t wait for their next release.

MA: You will be playing at Park Acoustics event this month alongside some super talented acts…. Are you excited for the gig? What can we expect from your set?

Yeah, we’re super stoked to be part of the bill. We’ve been wanting to play Pretoria for a while now and what better way to do it.

You can expect a good ol’ rock & roll set in the early morning.

MA: Anything else you currently working on that we may be interested in?

We’re releasing a new EP titled “Ritual Fear” on the 30th of September. This title will be our first introduction as a 4-piece band.

MA: Where can people follow you on Social Media?
