Vodacom In The City have put together a once-in-a-lifetime music line up for the 2013 installment of Vodacom In The City. This one day music festival is quickly climbing up the ranks and securing itself a spot as one of South Africa’s best and most loved music festivals, this year you will get the opportunity to see FOUR top international acts sharing the stage on the 4th of October.
Taking place in the Mary Fitzgerald Square (Downtown JHB), which will have a capacity of 15000 fans dancing and stomping the day away to the sweet sound of their favorite music being delivered to their ears LIVE!!
Included in the line-up this year are
Alt-J – the English indie-rock quartet probably best known for their singles “Tessellate” and “Breezeblocks” released their debut album in 2012 titled “An Awesome Wave” which was nominated for a bunch of awards and walked away with 2 Album of The Year awards as well as having singles featured across the globe on interdependent charts.
Boys Noize – A German electronic music producer who first hit the scene in 2004 and has since released 5 LP’s under his own label Boys Noize Records and has been commissioned to do remixes for the likes of N.E.R.D, Depeche Mode, Snoop Dogg, Michael Jackson and the Black Eyed Peas just to name a few (The list just goes on and on!!)
The Hives – A Swedish rock sensation with over 15 years under the belt. The Hives will no doubt have time standing fans going crazy for their hit singles such as “Two-Timing Touch & Broken Bones” and “Tick Tick Boom!”, all the while donning their iconic black and white suits
Skunk Anansie – will be bringing their versatile British rock sound to perform at In The City, you will be sure to hear tracks you know and love from their 3 multi-platinum albums from the years gone by. their performance will take place shortly after the launch of their first ever Live acoustic album which is set to be released in September.
