The Warm Up made my weekend.

The Warm UpI finally got the time to attend The Warm Up party, which is a rooftop party thrown in the Maboneng Precinct- the heart of Jo’burg CBD. I have been dying to go to one of these events for months now but never been available, until yesterday where I went mad for deep house music. The venues they throw their events at are always on a rooftop in the city center, where the backdrop is the concrete jungle that is this countries heartbeat. The event started at 2 in the afternoon, till late into the night, where we were spoilt rotten by some body-moving deep house music. The line-up included 2Lani da Warrior, the Metro FM award winner Julian Gomes, Phat Jack am UK DJ/Producer Matt Masters from Freelance Records.

The venue was looking good with the help of Monster Energy, Jack Daniels and ADIDAS, who set up bar areas, chill out zones with couches and the stage and tent area, including an awesome sound system to power the deep tunes on display.  2Lani kicked things off with some `food for the soul`, handing it over to Julian Gomes who was on another level, rocking the crowd as the sun set on the city. Its was Matt Masters who took over as the party was reaching climax, having the diverse partygoers bouncing to his every beat, taking us deep with some powerful baselines. Finally ending with Phat Jack, who had us dancing till the very end, cementing his place as one of my favourite Dj’s around.

I will definitely be making much more of an effort to attend these parties on a monthly basis, as my soul needs it fix of some quality deep house loving. I suggest you do too.
