Niskerone and SFR – Memories EP review

Two of the best in the business have hooked up to put together a great EP. Cape Town, South Africa’s own Niskerone and SFR who are legends in the bass heavy scene in South Africa and over seas. They’ve been running the scene with the best tunes and now have come together for the love of Drum & Bass to bring you their new EP entitled – Memories (released 15/5/2013). A taste of things to come, this three track EP has a tasty blend of drum n bass/jump up, jungle, dubstep and break beat influence, all mashed together in the best of ways to give you an amazing listening experience. “If this doesn’t get you out your seat, nothing will”. The album has already been well received at home and over seas, and if your a bass heavy head, you would be mad to miss this one (which I think is a taste of great things to come).

NiskeroneMitchell’s Plain, Cape Town is where the legendary Mark Stevens a.k.a NISKERONE is from. A bass heavy DJ that is breaking down barriers with music, not only here in South Africa but, over seas as well. Playing a mix of liquid Drum & Bass/Jump up, Dubstep, Electronic and break beat tunes all mixed together to bring you some of the most energetic live sets. After rocking all the major events and festivals around South Africa (Earth Dance, Synergy, Rezonance, Ramfest & Oppikoppi to name a few), he took his style across the water to Europe playing in Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Spain and in Holland, Where I was lucky enough to see him rocking out and blowing the crowds away at the legendary ‘Winston Kingdom’.

SFRAlso from Cape Town, South Africa, a legend who has been rocking the scene since 2003. Julian Joseph a.k.a SFR, a Drum & Bass and Dubstep DJ. He first rose to international prominence after winning Dj Hype’s mix competition in 2006. He has since released a number of records on labels such as Trouble On Vinyl, Zombie Recordings, and Load Recordings. In addition to his solo releases, he has also collaborated with Mix ‘n Blend and Hyphen, whom he frequently DJ’s back to back with at some of the big dubstep events.
