Is it black with white stripes? Or is it white with black stripes?
Is it music with comedy? Or comedy with music?
Lets just call it entertainment!
Wim & Siphe were in the bar together and started singing to “Little Lion Man” by Mumford & sons.
We realised we harmonized amazingly together and decided to start a band!
We performed at the Open Mic Night at Aandklas Hatfield and Zebra was formed!
Wim then wrote a song about a girl, which happened to be New York.
We performed it and crowds reaction was great!
We started writing a ton of music and then Ivan joined us to create a fresh vibe and great sound.
We have opened for Jack Parow, PHfat, Locnville & Beatenburg!

A bit hungover but ready for action.
MA: Please give us a quick 101 on who Zebra are? Where in SA are you from and how did you get started in the music scene?
We are a pub theatre band that started off in Pretoria. We basically started off with Wim and Siphe doing open mic nights in Pretoria, where Ivan and Duncan joined us afterward and the rest is a hangover.
MA: What are some of your musical influences?
Each member brings their own influences to the band but we are mainly influenced by our lives in general.
MA: You will be playing at this year’s Capital Craft Festival…. Are you excited for the gig? What can we expect from your set?
Extremely excited! We’ve prepared a brand new set with some “family friendly” fun. We’re even getting our onesies cleaned!
MA: Anything else you currently working on that we may be interested in?
We’re currently working on releasing our first single and accompanying music video. We also have new merchandise available with more on the way so be sure to keep an eye out.
MA: Where can people follow you on Social Media?
MA: Thanks for your time.
It’s the zebra motherlovin way.
