We got to chat to funny man, Joey Rasdien, ahead of park Acoustics in Pretoria this weekend. We dont usually chat with comedians, let us know how we did:
Interview: Joey Rasdien
I am a human being. Phylum Mamalia. Who happens to do comedy. Something I love.
MA: Where in SA are you from?
MA: Have you always been a “funny guy” growing up, or was comedy something you worked/ practiced hard at before stepping up on stage?
I wish I recorded myself since birth. That would have answered this question perfectly.
MA: Can you describe the first time you ever stood up on stage to do a comedy show? Were you funny? 😉
What I think and what others think of me are two different things. So I don’t know whether I was funny or not. It was at a place called the Underground in Melville hosted by John Vlismas. My first time.
MA: What are your thoughts of our local comedy scene at the moment?
Absolutely Brilliant. It’s not a scene. It’s an viable industry.
MA: Any comedians/venues that you think need a special mention?
The Underground. It’s closed now but that’s where the industry basically started.
MA: You will be at Park Acoustics event this month…. Are you excited for the gig?
Yes I am very excited
MA: Anything else you currently working on that we may be interested in?
Two new movies and a one man show at The Lyric in November.
MA: Where can people follow you on Social Media?
Instagram : @rasdien
Twitter : @joeyrasdien.
MA: Thanks for your time.
