Super talented musician, Peach van Pletzen, from the epic electronic band, Bittereinder, as well as many more rad projects, will be playing some tunes at Park Acoustics this weekend, as duo Van Pletzen. Check our short little interview with the homie:

MA: Hello dude, it’s rad to be chatting to you, how you doing?

I am doing well thanks and it is super lekker chatting to you too! Apples and Peaches ūüôā

MA: You are involved in many musical projects, do you mind starting with a quick 101 on who Peach Van Pletzen is? Where in SA are you from and how did you get started in the music scene?

I am a music producer that runs a recording studio in JHB, I produce/mix music for a variety of artists.¬† I am also a drummer and often work with Tumi (Stogie-T) and Joseph Clark live.¬† I am one third of Bittereinder, half of Van Pletzen and all of Yesterday’s Pupil.¬† I have been doing music full time for 12 years.¬† I got started with a band called SHU.

MA: Now, maybe a brief introduction to the members/team that is involved in your latest project, Van Pletzen?

NIK NAX and myself. 100% independent and 200% legeh!

MA: Do you have any major highlights in your musical career thus far?

Performing at Lowlands Festival with Bittereinder in 2011.¬† Touring Argentina with Van Coke Kartel, Oorlog Frankenstein¬†and Yesterday’s Pupil.¬† Performing in front of 35 000 people at the Gelredome stadium in The Netherlands with Joseph Clark.¬† Touring Holland with Bittereinder.¬† Playing at Melkweg as Yesterday’s Pupil. Producing¬†music for some of my favourite artists!

MA: What are your thoughts of our local music scene at the moment?

It is in a very exciting space.¬† The music scene is an ever changing thing and there is room for everyone, the real challenge is knowing where you belong – call me if you want a less philosophical answer, or if you want to go much deeper. ūüôā

MA: Any acts/bands/artists that you think need a special mention?

Yes!  Almero Welgemoed and Sam Soweto.

MA: You will be playing at Park Acoustics event this month…. Are you excited for the gig? What can we expect from your set?

Super excited, going to a fun day-time vibe and myself and NIK NAX will be sure to bring that summer-time lekkeness!

MA: Anything else you currently working on that we may be interested in?

A brand new Bittereinder single called “Asemrowers” that is dropping on the 19th of October.¬† Van Pletzen REMIX VIDEO dropping 10 October ūüôā
