SAM WORLD and MATTHEW O ‘CONNELL have released their cover for HEAVEN, the Bryan Adams classic as done by DJ Sammy.
“Anyone who was out partying in the 80’s, dancing in the 90s and used to hit the rave clubs in the the early 2000s, will remember this song!”
SAM and MATTHEW were working on an original song when they decided that doing a cover would be a lot of fun. They listened to a lot of classics, but HEAVEN ended up being the winner. They describe it as a tough song for them to finish; having so many versions and not having the right one to complete the song was a struggle. But through patience and frustration, SAM managed to find the missing piece and complete the puzzle of production.
“Everybody at some stage of their life knows or have heard the song. We laid down a demo and took it home for our friends to listen to and everyone could pin a memory to that specific song. That’s when we knew it would be a great idea to do a cover of it.” says Sam.
SAM and MATTHEW have worked on a few original records together prior to HEAVEN. Not only are they great friends, they also work well together and feed off one another’s creative energy, which makes the writing and production process a lot easier.
“We love the song. Our genre of music is moving at a rapid pace nowadays; it’s such a beautiful song and we wanted to rework it with modern sounds. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but we enjoy exploring different waters and taking risks and as an artist, taking risks keeps your audience interested.”
