“Music is for every single person that walks the planet.” – Robert Plant.

Robert Plant is rumoured to sometimes sing notes only dogs can hear, while Jimmy Page’s shredding skills have inspired generations to pick up an axe and start practicing. Who better to pull off the ultimate tribute show to LED ZEPPELIN than an all star line-up at The Good Luck Bar this November, featuring some of SA’s biggest Rock ’n Roll legends!

Join them as they pay tribute to one of the greatest rock bands of all time.

For one night only, some of SA’s finest will be adding their take to your Led Zeppelin favourites.

Initiated by Jason Oosthuizen (Punk ’n Roll, Lost & Found, Van Coke Kartel), it has always bee his dream to do a tribute to this legendary band. Growing up with a dad who played in rock bands, ZEPPELIN was always a favourite for him. He has always been hesitant doing a tribute due to it being one of the hardest bands to pull off musically and vocally.

After months of throwing ideas around, he called up his desired line-up who were all up for the challenge in a second. Now, on 5 November – fans can see the ultimate line-up pay tribute to one of the greatest bands of all time!

JASON OOSTHUIZEN | DRUMS

“Led Zeppelin is one of the main reasons I play the way I do today, so paying tribute to them was my ultimate goal, combined with people who feel the same way. I feel we 100% the perfect line-up to pay this iconic band justice.” – JASON.

MARTIN CITO OTTO – WONDERBOOM | VOCALS

“Led Zeppelin is one of the very few bands that’s stood the test of time. Their music, their recordings and their performances have influenced so many rock bands. Paying tribute to them was a no-brainer for me. They played a huge role in my development as a musician so getting completely immersed in their world is a dream come true. It is an honour, and a seriously daunting challenge to even attempt to emulate Robert Plant’s vocals.” – CITO.

NEIL BREYTENBACH – PRIME CIRCLE | KEYBOARD

“Led Zeppelin were musical geniuses way ahead of their time. It’s a serious honour to be part of this event, the musicians in this band are insanely talented.” – NEIL.

CHRIS VAN DER WALT – BLACK CAT BONES | BASS

“Led Zeppelin is one of the most important bands in my life. To be able to pay tribute to them is an absolute honour. One night Jason and I saw Cito singing ‘Rock ’n Roll’; we looked at each other and decided it was time to do a tribute. The other members in the band also make it very appealing. I just know it’s going to be an incredible show.” – CHRIS.

WERNER BOSMAN | GUITAR

“It’s a huge honour to do this show; I’ve wanted to be a part of a proper rock tribute show for Led Zeppelin for quite a while now and to pull it off with the incredible line-up of musicians in this band is just so awesome. I’ve always been a big fan of the band and that era of rock ’n roll music in general and I get to play their music live, on stage – I mean who wouldn’t want to do that?” – WERNER.

MA: Hi Werner, great to be chatting to you… how you doing today?

I’m doing super, thank you for asking.

MA: Before we get started, can you please give us a short 101 on who WERNER BOSMAN the musician is? What instrument you play and for which/what band/s?

Well, I’m just a normal guy, who picked up a guitar when I was 8 years old, grew up on all the 70s and 80s classic rock tunes, always wanting to become a musician.

I saw Guns N’ Roses on tv for the first time and when I saw Slash with his big afro, top hat and cigarette, I was like, that’s what I wanna do. He made playing guitar look soooo cool and I’ve been fortunate enough to say that I am a fulltime muso. Guitar is my main instrument, I sing too and can play a bit of drums and piano, but I’m a guitarist by trade. I’ve played for so many bands and artists, Saving Silence is an original rock band I’ve been involved in for the last 6 years, I’ve worked with Jesse Clegg, Dilana from Rockstar Supernova in America, did the Dubai gigging circuit, toured a few places around the world. I’m always busy with anything music related.

MA: You will be involved in the LED ZEPPELIN TRIBUTE SHOW at The Good Luck Bar on the 5th November, what can we expect from the show?

The show on the 5th is going to be nothing but pure rock & roll. All the guys in the band are huge Zeppelin fans and we’re giving it our all and we’re gonna put on a show that will be remembered. We all play with passion and heart, so that will be the driving force behind it all.

MA: Have you always been a huge fan of LED ZEPPELIN?

Yeah I’ve always loved Zeppelin, since I was a kid. Whole Lotta Love was actually the first Zep song I heard and I just instantly gravitated towards the band.

MA: Who are the other band members that make up the band for the LED ZEPPELIN TRIBUTE SHOW?

The rest of the guys are:
Jason Oosthuizen on Drums
Cito on Vocals
Chris Van Der Walt on Bass
Neil Breytenbach on Keys
Me on Guitar and Backing Vocals

MA: What are your thoughts on our local music scene at the moment and if there is anything you wish to see happen differently?
To me the SA music scene needs a good kick up the ass and the only thing I wanna see and wish is for real rock & roll music makes a comeback. Everyone says rock is dead, it’s not, there’s such a hunger from the fans out there, all that’s needed are the right bands to pave the way again, especially with all the legends and pioneers leaving us one by one, there’s no one to remember in 30 years, we cannot let that happen. As long as I’m alive, real rock & roll will come back.

MA: Are there any local acts that you think need a special mention?

Well, the members in this tribute band all play in killer, big local bands, so be sure to check us out in these acts:
Wonderboom
Lost & Found
Saving Silence
The Black Cat Bones

MA: Anything that you guys are currently working on that we would be interested in hearing about?

Everyone’s constantly working on new material, with whichever band or project, so all I can say is keep your ears open  😉

MA: Where can we follow you on Social media?

You can follow me on:
Facebook, Werner Bosman (RokStarr)
Instagram is @therealrokstarr
