‘Light. Darkness. Anatomy. Drums. Patterns. Musiek. Bloedstroom.’
Today sees the official release of a brand new music video by BITTEREINDER for their song, KLANKANATOMIE. Klankanatomie is from their third full length album, SKERM, released in October 2014.
The band decided to make a video for Klankanatomie seeing that without any concerted effort from them, the song seems to have generated the most love from listeners – from the guy who proofreads their lyrics to their distribution company to their friends and people at shows – everyone is loving the song as a favourite. “We feel it’s a ‘new’ sound, a proper melodic rhyme with an epic chorus. It was always going to be a single, and we feel it plays nicely after ‘Skerm’ as the first single from quite an eclectic album.”
“We feel it’s one of the best songs and videos we’ve done, if not the best.”
After a few weeks of pre-production by Louis Minnaar, assisted by Christo Jansen Niemandt on set, the filming of the live footage was shot in one evening in Pretoria. Minimal problem-solving on set was quick and stress-free, and the band had a really good time getting stuck into the song.
‘Dis musiek in my bloedstroom.’
“It really has turned out to be one of those videos that makes the song even stronger, all three of us have found a re-appreciation for the content of the song because of the way it’s translated in the video. The central extended metaphor of the song is pretty easy to pick up, and in a globalized world it’s a very accessible idea, that we are all made of music.”
Fans can look forward to plenty of singalong vibes, some shots of Peach looking super-hot behind a drum-kit, and superlative editing from Louis. The launch of the new video also coincides with the release of Bittereinder’s album SKERM on iTunes in the Benelux area.
